FAQ

Does my insurance cover therapy?
We are providers for many insurance companies. Depending on your insurance plan you may have varying levels of coverage. Our staff does call to verify your insurance; however, it is recommended you check with your insurance company to inquire about therapy coverage.

Do I have a co-payment?
Certain insurance companies may charge an "office visit" co-payment which is required to be collected prior to the patient's session. This co-payment may be a one-time initial session only, or for every session. Again, our staff checks with your insurance but it is still recommended that you call to inquire.

How long is the session?
In general therapy initial sessions and subsequent sessions are for thirty minutes.

Does the therapist communicate with my doctor?
Yes, your therapist communicates with your doctor through an initial report which is dictated and sent after your first session. Progress notes are sent prior to a follow-up MD visit and finally a discharge report is sent after your last session. When necessary the physician is called and concerns are discussed.

Do I have to see a doctor before being seen by a therapist?
Most insurance companies require a physician referral for therapy. Some insurance companies allow patients to have open access to physical therapy. It is best to see a physician in general to rule out possible medical issues that may have a factor in your recovery or treatment.

How many times do I have to come to therapy?
The number of therapy sessions depends greatly on many different issues. How a patient's muscle or joint responds to therapy, the degree of injury or dysfunction when beginning therapy, the ability of a patient to follow through with a home program are, to name a few, issues that will affect the number of sessions needed.
